    Award - Temaki Carr

The organization took shape when Dr. Carr mobilized a diverse Christian community in Belgium to provide disaster relief for Nepal following the 2015 earthquake. This initiative, “Two Fish and Five Loaves of Bread,” not only provided vital aid but also strengthened unity across communities.

From assisting victims of terrorist attacks in Brussels to promoting women’s socio-economic independence in Ghana and Pakistan, Loving the Nations has remained unwavering in its mission: to demonstrate love through action.

A Leader Forged by Experience and Diversity

With a doctorate in Community Organizing and a master’s degree in Intercultural Relations, Dr. Carr’s leadership is deeply influenced by her 20-year military career.

“Everyone is value-added, every perspective is important, diversity is essential, and unity is critical to mission success,” she explains. Her military background instilled in her the discipline, strategic planning, and leadership skills necessary to manage large-scale humanitarian projects across multiple countries.

Her multicultural upbringing further shaped her inclusive leadership approach, ensuring that everyone in Loving the Nations feels heard, appreciated, and empowered.

“Our goal is to create a world where every woman and girl has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to her community,” Dr. Carr asserts.

Beyond individual empowerment, Loving the Nations fosters cross-cultural collaboration and community-building efforts, encouraging people from diverse backgrounds to work together for lasting change.
